women who augment the police department
Reserve Police Officer
The
Reserve Officer Program is comprised of men and women who
augment the police department by volunteering their time to
serve their community.
Reserve
Officers must meet the same qualifications as a full-time
entry-level police officer. They must attend a
256-hour academy and receive extensive field training.
After completion, reserve officers are fully
commissioned with the same authority as a police officer -
while on duty.
Reserve
Officers are required to volunteer 20 hours per month,
attend monthly training sessions, as well as maintain
proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics and patrol
procedures. Reserve Officers work with regular police
officers on various assignments and are frequently used for
special events and case investigations.
Applications
for the position of RESERVE POLICE OFFICER are now being
accepted.
